George Salinas

Farmer & Consultant

With nearly three decades of corporate experience, George Salinas was a dedicated electrical engineer and business leader before turning to agriculture. A graduate of Mapúa Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business, he dedicated 27 years to the corporate world, including 21 years at Meralco where he served as a manager. His leadership journey continued as Purchasing Manager at First Maritime Shared Services under Royal Caribbean Cruises – Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC).

After years in management, he pursued farming. He purchased a small piece of land that later grew from 3,700 square meters to nearly 3 hectares. His enrollment in the DTI Kapatid Mentor Me Program proved pivotal as it helped him refine packaging, marketing, and distribution, leading to placements in pasalubong centers and destinations such as Sonya’s Garden.

Today, he serves as President of Nayong Kalikasan Organic Farm, Consultant for the Jollibee Group Foundation’s Farmer Entrepreneurship Program, and Consultant at the Grameen Foundation USA – Philippines Office. With this, he continues to share his expertise to empower Filipino farmers and agripreneurs through sustainable practices and enterprise development.
